YS Sharmila offers shoes to Telangana CM KCR; challenges him to join “Padyatra”

On Thursday, YS Sharmila, the president of the YS Telangana party and the sister of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, brought a shoe for Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and challenged him to walk with her for at least three kilometres to learn about the people’s hardship. Sharmila said at a news conference concluding the final leg of her “Praja Prasthanam” padyatra that the KCR had failed to keep the commitments he made to the people of the state.

The YSRTP head dared KCR to walk with her and stated that if his boast of a “golden state” is real, she will quit from politics.

“Today, I challenged Telangana Chief Minister KCR to walk with me in Padyatra, and we presented him with a shoe box. If, as KCR claims, this is the golden state, with no issues for the people of Telangana, and my people are not suffering from poverty, I will apologise to KCR and step down from politics. If this is not the case, KCR must resign and apologise to the people of the state, as well as appoint a Dalit as Chief Minister, as he promised “She said.

When asked about the assembly budget, Sharmila stated that she had no expectations for it. Notably, the budget will be presented in the assembly tomorrow.

She also claimed that KCR being removed as the Chief Minister is the only hope for the state.

“The only hope for Telangana is that KCR should go home and should not be the Chief Minister any more. I’m looking forward to the Assembly elections for a change of government in the state,” she said.

“KCR has been the Chief Minister for the past eight and a half years. Given his working style and how he allocates the funds, the budget presented by the KCR administration makes no sense. I don’t see much hope because KCR isn’t going to stick to it anyhow “She said.

She also discussed Nirmala Sitharaman’s federal budget, claiming that the finance minister did not devote anything to Telangana.

“Telangana has received very little funding. The administration made several promises during the split when Telangana was created. There is still no guarantee that all of the promises will be honoured. We hoped for anything for ourselves, but there was nothing on the promises “She stated.
