A red alert for Raigad district declared a holiday for schools and colleges due to heavy rains.

According to the weather report by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the heavy rain that has occurred in central and north Kerala for the past few days is likely to lessen slightly starting on  Wednesday.

The Gautam Buddh Nagar district administration announced that all schools in Noida and Greater Noida, up to and including class 12, will be closed on Wednesday due to heavy rain and flooding.

Due to the weather department’s “red alert,” authorities have declared a holiday for all schools and colleges in the Raigad district until Thursday. For the district, the Meteorological Department has issued a “red” alert. Due to the red alert that the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) issued to coastal districts, authorities have extended the day off for anganwadis, schools, and pre-university institutions in the districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi. As it slowly moves northwestward across the north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts, the rain-driving system, which has now intensified into a well-marked low pressure, is expected to become more marked and intensify into a depression by Wednesday, July 26.

Additionally, the next five days are likely to see moderate to isolated heavy rains across the State due to the presence of cyclonic circulation over northwest Madhya Pradesh and neighboring East Rajasthan, as well as an off-shore that stretches from the south Konkan coast to north Kerala coast.
