According to ANI, the dead body of former model Divya Pahuja was retrieved from a canal in Haryana. The discovery comes only days after Balraj Gill, one of the suspects in Pahuja’s murder, was detained at Kolkata’s airport.
According to the authorities, she was slain after reportedly blackmailing the hotel owner using his “inappropriate pictures” in order to collect money from him.
Gill ran from Patiala after abandoning his car near the bus stop, Gurugram Police claimed earlier. Another charged, Ravi Banga, is still believed to be on the run. Balraj Gill, the person being charged in the assassination of model Divya Pahuja, was apprehended at Kolkata airport on Thursday, having gone unnoticed after abandoning his car at the Patiala bus terminal. According to Varun Dahiya, ACP (Crime) of Gurugram, another accused, Ravi Banga, is still at large.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Varun Dahiya, the body was discovered around 10 a.m. on Saturday and is still being recovered from the canal. The operation spanned 150-200 kilometers and involved routing each district and canal flow, as well as deploying multiple groups in each region through which the canal flows. The body will be sent to Fatehabad for postmortem examination.
CCTV footage from the Hotel City Point revealed the suspects, including Singh, allegedly carrying Pahuja’s body covered in a white sheet across the lobby. They eventually escaped the hotel in a vehicle with a corpse in the trunk.
According to authorities, Singh gave over the car and the corpse to Balraj Gill (28) about a km from the hotel. The automobile was subsequently discovered abandoned near a bus stop in Punjab’s Patiala.
