Uttarakhand police arrested two people in relation to terrorist. Recently, the Uttarakhand Police arrested two people from Gadarpur of US Nagar for helping terrorist Jagjit Singh alias Jagga to flee during parole. This incident took place in April 2022. One of the senior officers also mentioned that they found a car, a motorcycle and even a country-made pistol from the accused. The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manjunath TC, also mentioned in a comment, “After questioning terrorist Jagga, two names came into light who had helped him in fleeing during parole. Both have been arrested. Some more names have emerged in this connection and police are trying to establish their role in the crime,”.
More on the Arrest
Both the men were found in relation to the crime and were soon arrested. They were taken into police custody on Friday and have been identified by the police as Chetan Pahuja of Preet Colony and Mohit Grover of Awas-Vikas Colony in Gadarpur. One of the police officers said that both the cars used in the crime have been recovered. The officer also added that the vehicles were recovered from Dehradun. Jagga was a resident of Kirpa Kopali village under Gadarpur police station in US Nagar. He was involved in three criminal cases in US Nagar including the murder of a taxi driver in Pant Nagar in 2018. The police have also mentioned that he was arrested later that year from Jhankaiya in Khatima after an encounter with police.
The Uttarakhand Police later mentioned that he was arrested by the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Delhi police on January 12. Not only him, but Naushad Ali from Jahangir Puri in Delhi was also arrested. The Anti-Terrorist Squad also recovered pistols and grenades from the house that they had rented.
