The Department of General and Minimal Access Surgery at Srinagar State Medical College has achieved the rare feat of performing a complete laparoscopic Whiples surgery on a patient with pancreatic cancer, an official handout announced today.

This complicated operation was completed carefully in five and a half hours, the operation was smooth and without problems, the postoperative course was uneventful, and the patient was discharged from the hospital on Monday (April 17), 10 days after the operation.
