PM Inaugurates New Metro Line in Bengaluru

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated a new metro line in Bengaluru. The commencement of this new metro line took place on Saturday 25 March 2023. The instalment of this metro line is worth Rs. 4249 crores and the metro line connects Whitefield (Kadugodi) to Krishnarajapura. The metro line also comprises of 12 different stations. Officials have also mentioned that this section is the eastern extension of the operational East-West Corridor (purple line) from Baiyappanahalli to Whitefield Station. The installation of this new line is very beneficial for the people of Bengaluru.  

Benefits of the new Metro Line

The establishment of this metro line will help around 5-6 lakh Bengalurians. All those who are working in the information technology parks, malls, hospitals, export promotion industrial areas and even many Fortune 500 companies will benefit from this step taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The new line of Bengaluru Metro will be operated with five trains. Each one of these trains will have six coaches bought from BEML Limited. Officials further added that some trains will be kept as backup in case of an emergency. PM Narendra Modi mentioned that one of the main reasons for the establishment of this metro line is to connect and help the people of Bengaluru.  

This initiative taken by the BJP Government also focuses on helping students avail themselves of more opportunities. PM Narendra Modi wanted to aid all the students belonging to rural areas. The establishment of the Bengaluru Metro line is a means of providing accessible and affordable transportation. According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), this institute has been established by Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence at Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli, Chikkaballapur. The Institution is in a rural area. It was created with a vision of de-commercializing medical education and healthcare as well as providing students from rural backgrounds the opportunities that they deserve.
