Indian and American fighter jets join a combined exercise at Kalaikunda, West Bengal

As part of the Cope India 2023 exercise, five top-notch fighter jets of the two air forces took off in quick succession from the air force base.

Exercise Cope India 2023 is a joint India-US Air Forces exercise that started on April 13. It aims to improve mutual understanding between the IAF and the UASF and share their best practices by deploying C-130J and C-17 aircraft during the exercise’s first phase, with the USAF flying an MC-130J.

At Panagarh Air Force Station in Paschim Bardhaman district, a 12-day transport aircraft exercise began simultaneously on April 10. Exercise Cope India 23, a joint air exercise between the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the United States Air Force (USAF), commenced on April 10 at Air Force Bases Arjan Singh (Panagarh), Kalaikunda, and Agra.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has employed Tejas, Rafale, Jaguar and Su-30 MKI fighter jets while F-15 is representing the United States Air Force in the exercise.

At Kalaikunda Air Force Station in West Bengal’s Paschim Medinipur district, fighter jets from the Indian and American air forces participated in a joint exercise, an official said on Monday.

The exercise will be supported by aerial rocket launchers, an airborne warning and control system, and Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft of the IAF.

The Rockwell B1 Lancer, often referred to as “Bone” and used by the US Air Force (USAF), took part in Exercise Cope India 2023, according to a statement made on the social media platform Twitter by the Indian Air Force (IAF).

“The USAF’s ‘Strategic Swingwing’ over the old home of IAF Swing Wings. The ‘Bone’ Rockwell B1 Lancer of the @usairforce flying with other participating fighter aircraft during the ongoing #ExCopeIndia 23,” the Indian Air Force said in its statement on Twitter. The exercise, which began on April 10, will conclude on Monday.
