Covid-19 cases cross the 6000-mark

Recently, India reported around 6050 new Covid-19 cases on Friday 7th April 2023. This report was formulated on the basis of data shared by the Union Health Ministry. Amidst the rise in the Covid-19 cases in India, the union Health minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya (Mansukh Laxmanbhai Mandaviya is an Indian politician currently serving as the Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilizers of India) was a part of a review meet with the health ministers from all states and Union Territories.

MoS Health Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar mentioned in a comment, “The Centre has regularly issued guidelines to the States & UTs on Covid19. PM Modi has held a review with all States on this. Today, Health Minister Dr Mandaviya will hold a review meeting with health ministers of States & UTs,”

Increase in the number of Covid-19 cases

India reported 6050 more Covid-19 cases which is 13 percent higher than yesterday’s tally of 5,335 infections. Currently, the total cases in the country stand at around 28,303 and 14 more fatalities have also been reported due to the virus. The total number of people that were discharged from the hospitals stands at 4,41,85,858. However, 2334 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in the last 24 hours. A total of 2,20,66,20,700 inoculations have been done since the nationwide vaccination drive commenced on January 16, 2021.

The maximum number of Covid-19 cases that have been reported in India are coming from states such as Delhi, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and even Uttar Pradesh. These particular states have seen a sudden rise in the infections in the last couple of days.
