Indian students evacuated from Ukraine face fear. During the Russia conflict many Indian students were evacuated from Ukraine. The war between Russia and Ukraine has had a massive impact on everyone in the world. It was traumatizing for the people residing in those countries. Many reports have stated that people living there have faced anxiety attacks and bouts of nervousness. This includes all the Indian students living in Ukraine during the conflict. Many people are still trying to overcome the horrors of the Ukraine Russia war zone.
The war in Ukraine started back in 2022 particularly on February 24th. But for many of the Indian students who were evacuated from Ukraine the trauma is still fresh. The conflict between the two countries took a toll on the students. This incident left the whole world in shock. One can only imagine how scary it must have been for those who faced it first-hand.
“One night I was jolted out of my sleep by the mere sound of firecrackers outside my house” said Unzila Saifi, one of the 18,000 students who were evacuated from the warhead Ukraine. Saifi witnessed fire Shellings and heard missiles all around. Kharkiv was one of the most affected Ukrainian cities which was hit by the Russian invasion.
Many of the Indian students got caught in the war zone area. However, they were quick to send an SOS message for help. The Government of India then conducted operation Ganga in which they were able to evacuate 18,000 students from the war hit area. Thanks to the quick action taken by the Indian government many students were saved from this in intense situation. Even though the students are in a safe environment now many of them still experience trauma and anxiety. This incident has left a mark on them, and it will take time to heal from such an incident.
