The Prime Minister said that the world has changed from being GDP-centered to being people-centered and India has been the catalyst for this change. During an interview, he elaborated on many aspects.

A Domestic Approach with Global Relevance:

India’s domestic policies aimed at uplifting the most underprivileged segments of society serve as a guiding principle on the international stage. By voicing the concerns of those often neglected in global discourse, India is fostering a more inclusive approach to global governance.

Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: A Comprehensive Philosophy:

The theme of India’s G20 Presidency, “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” which translates to “The world is one family,” encapsulates a profound cultural ethos. It represents India’s commitment to fostering cooperation, unity, and solidarity among nations, transcending boundaries and differences.

Neutrality and Diplomacy:

In addressing the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Prime Minister Modi reiterated India’s stance that dialogue and diplomacy are the only sustainable means to resolve conflicts. This position reflects India’s longstanding commitment to non-alignment and its emphasis on peaceful dispute resolution.

 Controversy over Fuel Purchase:

India’s decision to continue buying fuel from Russia despite sanctions against the Putin regime faced criticism from some Western countries. However, India firmly defended its position, emphasizing its pursuit of the best possible deals for its citizens. This pragmatic approach reflects India’s commitment to its national interests while seeking peaceful global solutions.

Regardless of its role as G20 President, India remains committed to supporting efforts aimed at maintaining global peace. This reaffirms India’s role as a responsible and proactive member of the international community.
